Uniforms got finished in 3 days! I am impressed! I am sorry I didn’t get a picture of the 3 women that worked their butts off all day since Monday to get them made! Heres some pictures of just a few of the kids trying on their new uniforms for school!!!!
We made some bead bracelets today! Yay! So fun!! Next week sometime after I make a few samples, I’ll teach them how to make some different braided bracelets out of string!
Tim and Willis had the 2nd pastors discipleship today which went really well. They officially decided to begin meeting two days a week. And I officially start meeting with some women on Monday. The nightly devotions and Bible stories are going well with the kids! They are learning so much! They’ve learned about Jesus and salvation, they’ve learned about God and His creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Able, Noah’s Ark, and much more!
And I don’t know if I mentioned this before, but the service Sunday was so good! The Spirit was speaking through Tim, and many people were able to understand and repent. He preached from 2 Timoty 2:19-26.
19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” 20 In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. 21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
The message was about being a vessel. He used a display of a white plate with cow dung and mud all over it. It was a dirty vessel and it can’t be used. No one will eat off of it. Then he washed it. It was now a clean pearly white plate. Now we would use the plate, it is a clean vessel. Tim explained that the water was like the blood of Jesus, cleansing us from our sin, so that we can be saved. Tim also explained that when we are saved and call ourselves followers, we still sin and can get dirty, and still need to repent and ask for forgiveness. He said that when we are sinning, we are a dirty vessel. He explained that God forgives and that Jesus died for our sins, but if we believe that we can intentionally sin or repetitively sin the same sin, we become like a dirty plate again that can’t be used. Our sin puts a barrier between us and God. When we ask for forgiveness, we are supposed to not only ask for forgiveness, but also repent and turn away from sin and temptation. And ask for help to be strong in the Spirit so that we can avoid falling into temptation and sin. We cannot give ourselves over to sin and temptation and say “it’s okay, God will forgive me. I’ll get drunk tonight and ask for forgiveness tomorrow” No. It doesn’t work like that. That’s not true repentance. We want to be a clean vessel so that we can be used by God and be a part of His beautiful plan. Tim talked about having a pure heart and being kind from verse 22 and 24. Tim talked about a banana stand in the market, and when they see a white man, and double the price for bananas from 70 shillings to 150 shillings, and then lie in denial after we say we know that is too high. That is a sin, and its not of a pure heart, but a selfish heart. Oh they loved that! They all laughed and the women were elbowing each other because many of them have done that! So The people were able to get many points from the message, and at the end, so many came forward and cried out in prayer and repentance. Many people came up and told Tim thank you for the message, that they felt like it was just for them and they know they haven’t been truly repenting and that they want to be a clean vessel. Tim gave all the glory to God for His Word and His Spirit that spoke through him. He said its not me, its Jesus.
Well, We’re going swimming tomorrow with all the kids! Can’t wait! Praying for good weather. The forecast online says its supposed to rain, but its usually not very accurate, so pray it will be pretty!
